Voxa runs entirely in your web browser. There is nothing to download, install, or update. Open the website, log in, and start calling. It works on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
When you make your first call, your browser will ask permission to use your microphone. This is a standard browser security prompt. Grant permission once and it remembers your choice for future calls.
Your calls will display a Voxa number or your purchased local number on the recipient's phone. You can purchase local numbers in supported countries to show a familiar caller ID to the people you call.
Voxa calls require a stable internet connection with at least 1 Mbps bandwidth. Wi-Fi is recommended for the best experience. Mobile data (4G/5G) also works well in most cases.
Audio is encrypted between your browser and Voxa's media infrastructure using DTLS-SRTP. Calls connected to ordinary telephone networks cannot remain end-to-end encrypted beyond the VoIP network.
